Being thankful...

One thing that is in such bold relief lately - I've not been thankful enough - for so many blessings. It has been an incredible, convicting joy, for instance, to have all sorts of sensitivities heightened in the area of diet. I eat and drink what Jody is allowed to eat and drink - so I can fellowship with her on that part of her regimen. It is about as simple as one can eat.

When you can only have millet, totally plain for breakfast - for weeks - and suddenly are allowed a few blueberries - it is like the heavens are opened! How thankless I have been for so long; with all the variety and abundance of choices with which we all have daily access. I think about how often we would labor about "where to go out to eat"... even to the point of frustration. How that must have displeased the Lord!

Tonight, for dinner, Jody and I had a complete blast - because we figured out a new way to configure some of the things she is allowed to have into "something like a tostada". I'll spare the details - but to us - it was maybe the most exciting, delicious thing we ever ate - and with every bite you could hear a praise for God... it was awesome! Thank you, Lord for even the simple blessing of a blueberry!

Col. 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Thank you my precious Fanny-fo and Logan, sisters in Jesus! It is so encouraging to receive these notes of love.

And, I must make mention of the fact that not only can we praise him for the blueberry this morning, but I also add to that praise - thankfulness - for the "organically grown, flown in from who knows where huckleberries" that Logan had sent here. Wow. :-) Thank you so much Logan.

What I meditated on re: our God today...

Psa. 97:4-6 His lightnings lit up the world; The earth saw and trembled. The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples have seen His glory.

Logan: You're going to have to update your blogger profile a bit. Think of the fun you can have . . . !

Jody: the choir continues to pray for you weekly. I've been handing out your blog address on request, and I hope they have taken advantage to view it often. It's encouraging to me, as well!

Yours in His care,

Sharon

Hey, Jody! How did you know that was me? Oh, I guess it's obvious from the Profile, huh? Yep, that's me, University of Oregon Marching Band, class of nevermind! I played percussion and clarinet in high school, and in college decided I'd rather lug a clarinet around the football field than a bass drum, so there I am!

And wanna know something even more cool? When the UO purchased new uniforms, they sold these to alumni bidders. And so I have my very own marching band uniform back!

Hope to see you Sunday,

Sharon
