Prayer Alert! God has made it clear...

... that Jody is to have stereotactic radiosurgery... and have it soon! God provided a cancellation that allows us to have this procedure much sooner than we could have imagined - and we are so grateful.
We leave town tomorrow night, appointments Friday and maybe Saturday, then the surgery is booked first thing Monday morning, June 5th.
Please pray that:
- The love of God and the gospel permeates us, and is contagious to those we meet.
- Discernment and patience reign while we navigate the medical maze.
- We exhibit strength to honor the Lord by not giving in to the temptation to fear anything other than Him.
- The protection and peace of Christ is manifest at all times while we are there, especially for Jody.
- We receive a skillfully rendered procedure. A team of doctors is required to perform this type of radiosurgery. I pray that they do the best work of their careers when my Jody is there!
- Travel and lodging is straightforward.

Jody & Scotty,
Take comfort in the promises of our great and awesomwe God
Psalm 121
1 I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come?
2 My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is your keeper;
The LORD is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun will not smite you by day,Nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul.
8 The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever.
I will be in constant prayer for you both from this moment through the procedure.
Amen. I love you, all my sisters.
What worship to God! Thank you for helping us to "aim" our minds, as in Col. 3:1-4.
(Thank you to Pat H. too! Who wrote directly to me.)
We are so humbled ...
...by all the prayer rendered on our behalf. We shed tears daily as we recount all of the emails and blog posts, cards, letters and support of every kind. God is ministering so tenderly to us through these means.
Thank you, each one of you for these comments. You will never know how much impact they have on our hearts.
Monday will be the day of the procedure. I'll post subsequently to let you all know how my darling is doing.
I can say this - it has been a very real battle - but God, who is always Faithful and True, has been mightily working all things together for our good in ways I can't describe... but I'll fill in as best I can when this part is over.
With much love,
S & J

Dear Scott and Jody,
I didn't know about the blog until we got Dolores' email the other day. I checked our email just before going to bed and then ended up staying up to read the whole thing! So you're on pretty much a bird seed diet, eh? Yikes, I will stop complaining about mine :-)
Of course we have been praying desperately for you since we heard of Jody's illness. Today we prayed for you in our small group: 3 Americans, 4 Dutch, and 2 Nigerians--so you're definitely getting international coverage!
I have a little default Bible reading schedule for when I'm in a hurry or in-between longer Bible studies. The chapter for June 5 is Ps 125. I was going to pull out a couple verses that I especially liked, but it is a short psalm, so I'll just paste it all in here and let the Lord speak to you through it.
Psalm 125
A song of ascents.
1 Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore.
3 The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil.
4 Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart.
5 But those who turn to crooked ways the LORD will banish with the evildoers.
Peace be upon Israel.
What glory you are bringing to our precious Lord by your attitudes. You are an example to everyone.
We love you both very much!!
