There's No Place Like Home

Deut. 32:4 The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.

Jody has slept in her own bed the last two nights! She is able to walk around the perimeter of our home for exercise, eat meals at the table, rest comfortably, snack from the fridge, take a shower - and enjoy the endless list of simple comforts of being home. I encourage you to practice listing all the things commonly taken for granted - and praise God heartily for them.

Thank you all once again for your constant encouragement and labor in prayer. I believe we have experienced something akin to a miracle for which we praise God day and night. Here are our latest prayer requests.

Please pray for Jody's strength to continue to increase, and for her healing to progress.

We ask for the Lord's continual protection from the side effects of Jody's treatment. He has been so gracious to us.

We cannot adequately express our gratitude to God for the blessings He has showered us with. We can only fall to our faces in worship of our Great, Loving, Merciful, Holy God.

From Jody: Dear precious friends, it is so wonderful to be home. I continue to be utterly humbled by your prayers on my behalf. I am eternally grateful. Each day is a precious gift from the Lord and a wonderful opportunity to rely on and draw close to Him. I love the Lord so deeply. His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Psa. 145:8-10 The LORD is gracious and merciful; Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness. The LORD is good to all, And His mercies are over all His works. All Your works shall give thanks to You, O LORD, And Your godly ones shall bless You.

Scott and Jody,
Praise the Lord! (Here we say, "Mukama Ye Bazibwe!") Thank you for encouraging our hearts with your faith! We appreciate your honesty and vulnerability on your blog. Your testimony has touched so many in so many places! We praise God that you are being faithful vessels even in the "valley of the shadow of death." And He will continue to be faithful!

We will continue to pray!

Love,

Shannon and Danielle

Dear Scott & Jody,

Whew! Thank you again, and again, for telling us of your trials, your joys, and I believe we all completely relate to the unspoken fears. It mustn’t be easy, but I’m certain the graciousness of the Lord provides you the energy and inspiration. It is an indescribable joy when we are able to ponder how wonderful He is; it does take our hearts in such a good direction. Thank you for such a worshipful blog.

We know that He is behind (before, beyond, “be” everything) all that is. He is not just our All in all, He is the Ultimate. Continue to be of good courage, and let the Lord handle the strength. When we are weak His strength is shown full, He will supply. We are confident that He gave us His Word and His favour and that it has come to us if we love His Son (by the convicting power and indwelling of the Holy Spirit) and if so, the One that sent Him. Blessed be His name (John 6:35-40; 7:28-29; 8:28-32, 42).

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. --Philippians 4:19

Love in Christ,
Bill & Amanda

Thank God for the homecoming!!! We do tend to take so many things for granted, as I've been learning and sharing on my blog, such as the amazing wonderfulness of walking on your own carpet, knowing where there is a likely trip hazard on the floor, sleeping with a husband and/or a dog instead of a tube, having your own sheets on the bed-sheets you picked out, the pictures you hung and that you enjoy. Happy, happy housecoming to Jody!!!

As is our daily routine of late, you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. The girls want to express their love to you as well. The deep and ongoing trials of our lives are what put God's glory and grace on display in the most clear way. As you well know they're not always removed from our lives. BUT - we remain within the constant and loving will of God and He will moment-by-moment give grace and peace that passes understanding. We keep our eyes fixed on Jesus because with joy, He set the example for us. I am particularly thankful that Gladys has her Mommy back. I was concerned for her. :-)

We love you so much.
